but Customers/Consumers still find METABANK
customer service to be awful

HOWEVER METABANK FAILS IN THE AREA OF CUSTOMER SERVICE STILL….. NO IMPROVEMENTS OBSERVED
NO REAL ACTION PLAN TO ADDRESS CUSTOMERS’ EXPRESSED NEEDS APPEARS TO HAVE EVER BEEN DEVELOPED OR PUT INTO ACTION BY META BANK……. SO JUST DON’T GET A PREPAID DEBIT CARD FROM META BANK
Suze Orman indicates that paying with cash cuts down on the temptation to charge more on a credit card than you can truly afford. She also indicates that paying using good old cash money will accomplish the same benefit for consumers.
Suze Orman indicates studies have shown that when using cold cash to pay for things, we tend to spend less; it is a more tangible experience to part with actual money than to hand over a credit card with a too-generous limit that doesn’t require us to pay in full and will allows us to pay extra money in interest.
Suze Orman has some rules for consumers though who choose to use debit cards:
She views debit cards as a way to wean yourself from using and having far too much reliance on credit cards.
#1 Decline Overdraft Protection:
She “never wants us to enroll in an over draft protection. An overdraft is a sign of dishonesty. You are spending money you don’t have, and it makes Suze Orman nuts when you, the consumer, are stuck with expensive overdraft fees. She indicates that when you are standing in your truth and living below your means, you don’t need overdraft protection.”
#2 Monitor your account every other day:
If you catch that someone has hacked into your account and withdrew money using your debit card info, your liability is limited to $50 if you notify your bank or credit union that provides the debit card. You must notify them within two days though to be protected. Otherwise you could be held liable for up to $500 in fraudulent charges.
Please note that consumers have not complained about these issues with using META BANK products, namely the PREPAID BANK CARD.
The Prepaid Bank Card as Suze Orman has indicated has potential. The problem is in how METABANK keeps customers’ own cash money from them. In this way METABANK gets for themselves an interest free loan.
When questioned about this practice, METABANK phone representatives lie to the customers for why they can’t access their own cash money.
Also METABANK phone representatives try to push the blame for why the customer can’t access their money off onto that customer, or the partner company who sold their product to one of their customers.
There may be some potential in using a PREPAID BANK CARD, but the way that METABANK makes for an awful customer experience. Their internal practices make it so they make money at the expense of the customer. Rules are changed without warning; this is an impossible situation for customers.
Our suggestion is for anyone who wishes to use a DEBIT CARD that they get it from a local bank.
Part of the METABANK scam relies on the difficulty that consumers find in reaching them by phone. METABANK mostly sells their product online or through a partner company so they distance themselves from their customer base. Somehow this distancing allows them to feel more comfortable in continuing to scam their customer base.
Also METABANK brags about being a “Thriftbank” which translates that they have no intention of giving good customer service. In recent years, META BANK has expanded their customer base to include middle class customers, but they still operate more as a collections agency than any kind of a reputable bank.
METABANK seems to rather delight in the number of people to whom they can provide a miserable customer experience…. This is why we, as consumer advocates, believe METABANK’s practices to be narcissistic…METABANK gets control of the customers’ money using publicity designed to appear to be a real solution; the publicity is also a lie. METABANK only wants to get your cash money and they will insist that you give them hard cold cash. Once they have control of your hard earned money, they they will keep it for themselves and away from you as their customer. You phone to complain and they lie to you and push the blame for the problems you are encountering back off onto you. Meanwhile, they are doing the same thing to many others; it is just that when you are on the phone, you feel alone and hopeless.
METABANK enjoys this game and for them it is a narcissistic game where they must win and you must lose as their customer. All customer complaints over a period of years no matter which METABANK product they have opted in to have been about the same kind of horrible customer service that makes all METABANK PREPAID DEBIT CARDS unacceptable for consumers.
METABANK appears to have created an organization recently so they could give themselves a customer service award…. It is part of their need to lie to always be able to win. METABANK only wants to be able to keep scamming consumers as they always have.
METABANK doesn’t care one iota about your well-being or your success as their customer. They are already moving on to find the next sucker. They are very well practiced at this by now after years and years of duping their customer base.
They know they are lying but they enjoy taking advantage of you. This is the very sick aspect of being a customer of METABANK… they are not upstanding in the way they treat their customer base…. For them the burgeoning world population is one huge opportunity to enjoy themselves as they get rich. Their own financial gain is their only real driving force. Customers are nothing but a tool to be used for their own gain.
METABANK Makes IOWA look really bad. Perhaps they only scam people who live elsewhere… outside of Storm Lake, IOWA.
Because of the narcissistic practices and applications found within METABANK, their CEOs know when to be charming when it serves their purpose. That is why their publicity appears to be excellent; it is all one big game for them.
To the rest of the world, METABANK is immoral and despicable.
