The Psychology Behind Why People Lie

Ever wondered why people lie?

As a former customer of METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC., yes, I have wondered why METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. have made it an operational pattern to lie to their customers.

METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. lies in the following ways:

    • to attract business partners who will push their product off on their own customer base thinking that this service will help everyone involved
    • to attract customers with misleading publicity that appears to address what the customer is looking for
    • by indicating that their product is safer and more secure than using cash, implying to customers that they will be safer and more secure simply by using a METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. product when quite the opposite is true
    • by holding onto consumer’s cash money in such a way that the METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. customer cannot access even their own money when they need it the most
    • by indicating that METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. doesn’t require a credit check to allow the customer to hand over their hard earned cash money to METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. to hold for them with the promise that this will make the customer’s life easier. Quite the opposite is true; life becomes difficult for consumers who may opt into METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC.’s products.
    • by indicating that they have tailor-made PREPAID CARDS for specific customer needs… METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. product is the same product but using a different name.
    • by getting a corporate partner to push their product off onto their own customer base… the corporate partner is being scammed and lied to as much as their customer base.
    • by using fancy titles such as “METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC.” to describe their service which is nothing but being a collections agency.
    • by teaching other financial institutions what they are doing and by promoting PREPAID CARDS as a good thing… they may be good for METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. but they are awful for consumers… but this teaching practice serves to normalize the scam and to allow the scam to be perpetuated even further.
    • by pushing the blame for the unacceptable aspects  of its very design and application off onto their  customers and anyone METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. can try to blame when customers contact them to explain why and how the METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. PREPAID CARD has failed to serve their real needs and how it has only served to create more problems for the customer.

What is it that inspires or provokes them to lie?

It was the fact that how METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. was lying to me so boldly and brazenly and by the fact that they were working extremely hard to push the blame off onto to me, my spouse and the partner corporate entity when it was clearly a problem created by METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. that sent up “red flags” for me that METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. is nothing positive for our economic welfare.

Why was METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. lying to me and to all of their customers I wondered?

There are  myriad reasons for why people lie, and there is, obviously, no single answer to such a complex aspect of human nature.

 

LYING IN THE CONTEXT OF THE WORKPLACE:

Cut-throat competition at work, and a desire to get ahead of the others, often induces people to lie.

METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. even indicates on their website that they are seeking employees to work in a competitive work environment that is face paced and rapidly changing. METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. does seek employees who are honest and trust-worthy. It is METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. that has created the cut-throat competition within their operational plans and their on-going actions over a period of years indicates that METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. seeks accolades to the extent that they even create an organization to give them awards for their on-going scam for which customers have  with great frequency complained. This is, of course, a very sick mindset that drives METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. to keep scamming people over and over again, using the exact same scam, but with new names for the same old scam. Consumers must be forewarned!!!

People lie to discredit and “get even with” rival colleagues or those whom they bear a grudge against.

I can only imagine what it must be like to work at METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. ..it has to be just awful. Competition must be first and foremost as a goal for their employees, but for the average employee of METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. is it really even possible to get ahead…. We haven’t heard the whole story here.

METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. was part of a bank CD fraud that came to trial probably in 2009. Internal auditors had never picked up on the fact that one of their employees was embezzling from them.  

Nor did her supervisors pick up on the fact that an employee was embezzling from the bank.

Other banks who had become partners of METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. and who were selling CDs managed by METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. discovered the fraudulent practices within METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. ..

….. Even then METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. denied any wrong doing on their part.

Eventually one of their employees was blamed for embezzling from METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. and all of their partner banks.

Pickhinkle said that it was METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. CEOs who had told her to shift funds from one CD to another to give the allusion that the CDs were doing well, and given how METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. lied to me and tried to push the blame off on me, my spouse and their partner who sold me the prepaid card, a story that would be repeated by many other customers I would discover later, I rather tend to believe Pickhinkle.

By lying to their customer base and to their corporate partners METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. gives themselves permission to keep doing what they have always been doing.

Customer complaints keep coming in and in huge numbers, but METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. seems to respond by “upping the ante” and always in their own favor. 

METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. creates all the rules governing their PREPAID CARDS, and they retain the right to change those rules at any time without warning.

Is the mindset at METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. based on a form of paranoia? It appears that it is

People who are incorrigible procrastinators often lie because of their habit.

For example, many people feign illness or some other “emergency”, to explain away the fact that they’ve not finished their work on time.

METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. lies and pushes blame off onto the customer for problems they have created internally and by the design of their product. From the start, METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. intended to scam their customer base; it is all based on a series of lies.

METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. has been informed repeatedly over a  number of years by their customer base of what METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. has actually done wrong. Consistently, METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. has pushed the blame back onto the customer who may feel alone and rather hopeless at that moment because METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. has scammed them, but also has all the control of that customer’s money. This is by design. This is what makes it a scam and an abuse of good citizens.

The fact that METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. has never responded in a genuine way to their customer base is a characteristic of how they do business. METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. lies from start to finish and keeps a closed ear to customer complaints. Why? It has made them lots of money and  why change that if they can get away with it.

Fancy titles, glowing resumes filled with varied experiences, and some fancy college degrees adorn the CEOs  list of talents and sills, but no place does it indicate the need to actually serve others in a way that both parties would benefit. That isn’t too much for consumers to expect, but METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. has created all of the rules for their products and by design METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. makes lots of money off of the customer base while the customer base continues to suffer simply because they have opted into the METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. product because of the publicity which it turns out is only part of the greater lie of METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC.

So it appears to be a habit of lying that makes METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. continue to lie at every level.

Many people lie for making quick financial gains.

This would be true for METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC…. It appears that the only real driving factor is to make lots and lots of money for the CEOs while customers complaints continue to mount. METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. has made huge amounts of income by scamming their customer base over a period of years and that appears to be the driving motivating factor for why they keep doing the same old scam over and over again…. No one has succeeded in stopping them yet

Look at the credentials of their CEOs and their income levels, it is by design that METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. continues to scam their customer base.

Some lie to avoid being saddled with responsibility.

Clearly METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. does this. All blame is pushed off onto the customers for any problems they have experienced using the METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. product line.

Do they think that the general public is stupid? After 26 assassins were found using METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC., a newly hired employee was sent out to explain that they didn’t know that the 26 assassins were presenting false IDs… The newly hired employee didn’t know they were lying and she wouldn’t have any further background information than what she had been given. Why the media never questioned the fact that Lisa was a newly hired employee sent out to answer serious questions about an assassination in Dubai that could carry serious repercussion for the world seems odd and unusual to me. Perhaps once they had some answer that they could submit to their editors, then they were on to the next story… The media missed the really big story behind that one by failing to look at the long standing operational practices of METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC.

Still others do it to stave off being fired.

Clearly Lisa Binder had to have felt that she must go out to speak to the press with the story she had been given. Perhaps even she believed it. Those representatives who handled incoming phone calls must be some of the lowest paid employees at METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. and they are the ones who have been trained to carry out the scam, the blame game for METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. so they can have an in-come.  Do they realize that they are  perpetuating a major scam? Do they not have a moral compass or are they motivated by the fact that they must pay their monthly bills and if they don’t lie to customers and blame them for the design of the METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. PREPAID CARDS that simply fail to serve consumers in any real way?

I am always left asking why METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. feels so compelled to lie. The lies are so brazen and bold; it is very clear that they are lies when we hear them.

Customer service doesn’t exist at METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC.

On the other hand, METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. speaks about “Customer Loyalty” which is a code phrase for how they will encroach upon and take advantage of consumers. METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. has no intention to serve their customer base, but rather to use them for their own gain. Customers always lose out when using the products provided by METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC.

Because METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. has no other action plan, they appear to be either unwilling or unable to address consumers real needs. The fact that consumers are still complaining about METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. and that the complaints repeat the same story over and over again, there is no real indication that METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. has any clue as to how they must change.

It will be for consumers themselves to work toward getting the economic protections in place that we so desperately need. METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. has had plenty of time to re-think their policies and internal practices, but they have never changed their action plan so that it actually addresses consumers’ real needs.

Quite frankly, we don’t need METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. in any form as consumers. There is nothing trust worthy about them and no indication that they even understand this concept as far as meeting customers’ real needs.

Sometimes, people lie because of the misconception, that the “bitter” truth is not accepted without some sugar-coating, and that a little embellishing of facts will not hurt anyone.

Embellishments would describe METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. publicity at every level.

They need customers so they do what it takes to get them, except to provide a genuine service that satisfies their customer’s needs.

Lying to Ourselves

People sometimes lie to themselves or, justify such lies, without realizing that they are doing so, because they have “internalized” the half-truths and fabrications after telling too many of them, way too many times, and ended up believing them to be true.

The mind, it turns out, is quite capable of such a deception, and it happens when we are in denial of a rather harsh truth.

Sometimes, a person might not be aware of the lie because he/she has always believed it to be true.

For example, the trainer of the famous horse “Clever Hans” did not know that the horse was responding to subtle clues from him, such as change in body posture, rather than performing complex arithmetic, and so he’d believed throughout that the horse was, in fact, truly gifted.

METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. uses this tactic on two levels, it appears. Their publicity is designed to make customers feel safe and secure by opting into their products. As consumers we want to protect our hard earned money and according to their publicity that is what METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. will do.

However, many customers have complained about the METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. products over the years and all that METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. has done is to lie and to push the blame off onto the customer or anyone else but themselves. So it appears that METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. actually lies to themselves so they can keep scamming consumers in spite of the many complaints against how METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. treats consumers.

In this way, METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. has failed to be able to make any practical or real changes in the way they operate. The deaf ear approach brings them lots and lots of money.

Yes, the dynamics and the actual practices with METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. are based on a very sick mindset.

Because METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. refuses to actually “Get It” as to what they must change, it is for consumers to take action to get in place the necessary protections for our hard earned money…. METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. has never shown any real intention to act in a different manner; changing their name, but offering the exact same product for which customers complain regularly, has failed to get METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. attention in anyway.

METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. has been given valuable input from their customer base, but failed to explore how to address these real needs. Their own greed outweighs their ability to be able to consider any other pathway forward.

Consumers must align and insist on the proper regulations, the proper enforcement of those regulations on all financial institutions …. some banks may act honestly, but it is places like METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. that beg for us to seek reforms and real actions to protect our interests as consumers because METABANK, META PAYMENT SYSTEMS, META FINANCIAL GROUP, INC. is either unwilling or unable to meet out genuine needs.
