Meta Bank AccountNow and iAdvance will not help to build customer’s credit history. AccountNow and iAdvance are get rich quick schemes for Meta Bank ~ Customers Beware!

Why customers love AccountNow Prepaid Cards [Most Meta Bank customers are complaining. What follows is a copy of Meta Bank's publicity. Meta Bank is very high on themselves, but customers don't like Meta Bank, plain and simple.]

Better than a credit card [Neither is a good idea when it comes to Meta Bank. With the Pre-paid Card, Meta Bank takes all of your money and holds on to it. Meta Bank gets all the interest income from it, while Meta Bank controls your access to your own money. You are far better off banking locally in your own city where you can actually walk into talk to someone and where you are not charged to phone in with questions. Meta Bank charges for phone calls.]

“I went through a bad time after my divorce and over-drafted my checking account so badly that my bank closed my account and my credit score fell because I was unable to pay my bills. AccountNow gives me peace of mind. I don’t have to worry about over-drafting and AccountNow has made it possible to enjoy the perks of credit without the hassle overdraft fees and late payment fees. Now I can once again shop online or pay my bills over the phone. Fees are low so they are competitive with banks and even more so with credit cards. With cards like AccountNow maybe we can make credit card companies think twice about robbing us of our hard earned money. Who needs a credit card when the AccountNow card is available!”

Christine – Spencer, IA   [This is creative fiction made up by writers at Meta Bank. There is no Christine in Spencer, Iowa with a sob story like this, and, more important, Meta Bank has never shown any kind of empathy nor sympathy when they have actually dealt with customers. This is just publicity; it isn't real. You should ignore it.]

Achieve financial freedom with an AccountNow Prepaid Visa or Prepaid MasterCard card. An AccountNow prepaid card account can help to manage your money safer, easier, and cheaper. Learn about the other benefits of having an AccountNow prepaid card account.[This is publicity - not real]

Works like a checking account

AccountNow Prepaid Visa and Prepaid MasterCard cards work like a checking account. Keep your money safe [Meta Bank will be making interest off any money on your card, but you will not] in one of our prepaid card accounts instead of carrying it around in cash. [Put your extra money into a savings account at a local bank.] All AccountNow prepaid accounts are FDIC insured, like a checking account, to ensure the safety of your money. [But Meta Bank is not stopped by any of those laws!]

Our prepaid accounts all come with a prepaid card containing the debit logo. Our prepaid cards are like bank issued debit cards but better. Not only can you make purchases and withdraw cash with our prepaid card, but you never have to worry about overdrafts because you can only spend what is in your account. [You are far better off spending cash and putting your money in a savings account at a local bank where you can actually walk in the door and talk to a real person.]

Better than a credit card.   [A trap!!!!! Publicity to get you to sign up but don't fall for this!!!!]

AccountNow Prepaid Visa & Prepaid MasterCard cards do not extend credit like credit cards, meaning you can’t spend money you don’t have. Since you are only spending money you add to your prepaid card account, you can avoid falling into debt and possibly damaging your credit score. Because you’re not borrowing money, you will never have to worry about finance charges, late charges, or over-the-limit fees. [Meta Bank gets interest from your money that you put on the pre-paid card. If you also do a direct deposit from your pay check with this prepaid card to try to build up your credit history, the Meta Bank will own you. Meta Bank is not honest in anything they say or do.]

The AccountNow prepaid card is a Visa or MasterCard branded debit card. Not only can you use our card to shop & pay bills online, make hotel & car rental reservations, and purchase goods & services wherever Visa or MasterCard is accepted but it can also be used to withdraw cash at virtually any ATM or bank. [For an additional fee that they did not mention here, Oops! Meta Bank wants you to spend and spend because this is the way they will make more money. Meta Bank wants you to think that everyone else has all of these things when they don't.]

Saves you lots of money.

Save hundreds of dollars a year using the AccountNow Prepaid Visa and Prepaid MasterCard card instead of traditional checking accounts, credit cards, bill paying services, check cashing, or bill paying services.

There are never any late fees, finance charges or overdraft fees. You get unlimited bill paying and credit builder free of charge – no need to pay for postage or money orders. Also, you’ll never have to pay to cash your benefits or payroll check when you use our free direct deposit service. [No!!!! This is just the hook they want you to swallow. Don't bite the bait. Find some other way to pay your bills. Meta Bank will only be making money off of you.]

Helps build your credit history. [NOT TRUE ! JUST PUBLICITY!!!!!]

Using the AccountNow Prepaid Visa and Prepaid MasterCard card can help you build your credit history in two ways. First, pay your bills online for free to save time, money, and demonstrate your credit worthiness. Our free credit builder program reports your bill payment history to PRBC, a credit bureau. (This doesn’t make any sense about how it will actually improve your credit history. Meta Bank is just getting you to use their pre-paid card. It only helps Meta Bank with their credit history records, and not the customer. This is nothing but publicity. The wording is made to confuse customers. It is actually the opposite of the truth!)

Second, use the AccountNow iAdvance Line of Credit – a sensible borrowing alternative to payday loans. (This is Meta Bank’s competition; they offer the same thing, the same kind of product. Both stink!!!) The iAdvance Line of Credit is a short term loan program that is easy to get and cost less than a payday loan. When you pay back the loan, we will report your payment history to the major credit bureaus.

Safer than cash.

Your AccountNow Prepaid Visa or Prepaid MasterCard card is protected against fraud with Visa’s Zero Liability and the MasterCard Zero Liability** coverage. This protects you from unauthorized charges made to your prepaid card account in case your card is lost or stolen. [Meta Bank sometimes guesses that your card has been stolen and will cut you off from having access to your own money, but they will still get interest from all of the money that is still on it. It is a pre-paid card after all, and Meta Bank struggles with telling the truth.]

The funds on your AccountNow prepaid card are also FDIC-insured and backed by the US Government. [Meta Bank is the real fear here. Meta Bank's internal auditing system may be way off, but very conveniently for them, and not the customer.]

Everyone is accepted.   [Meta Bank has designed this with you in mind. Don't fall for this!!!!!]

Getting an AccountNow Prepaid Visa or Prepaid MasterCard card is easier then qualifying for a credit card or checking account. 100% guaranteed approval ensures you will qualify for one of our prepaid card accounts as long as you have valid identification.[Meta Bank has even lied about this part, and this is a federal law requirement. You will give them this information as required, but they will lock your money onto your card and say you did not give them your identification, but they still keep your money for which they will get interest and you can't even get access to it. This is why their customers think they use  Mafia like tactics formerly used by loan sharks; they are one in the same. Stay away from Meta Bank; they are not good people; they are messing with innocent Americans.]

If you have bad credit history or no credit at all you can still get an AccountNow prepaid card because we will never check your credit. [Meta Bank doesn't want to do a credit  history; they just want your money.] Even if your banking history isn’t great or you are on ChexSystems, you are still eligible to get one of our prepaid card accounts.[Getting this prepaid card from Meta Bank is a big mistake. Don't do it!!!!!]

    • We are consumers who have been scammed. Sorry. We haven’t been able to find any honest lenders. Begin with some bank where they know your family and you personally. Go to a place where you can talk face to face. Avoid banking on line when you open up the account.

    • You wrote to the wrote website. There should be in your city government agencies that council people on how to get out of debt and how to stay out of debt. School loans are at an all time awful level for pulling people into a state of being in debt. This is a crime. Please complain to your US Senators and to your US Representatives that student loans need to be addressed in their new regulatory act on banks.

    • Don’t get another loan to pay off a loan.
      Don’t deal with META Bank.
Don’t have money directly deposited into an account for you at META Bank
Bank locally where you can walk in to talk to the branch manager at any time.
Open up a savings account. Pay all bills in cash. Only spend money that you already have.
Don’t allow META Bank to have such great control over all of your money. I personally will never knowingly deal with META Bank again.
The hard part has been that META Bank operates using many different names; they still offer the same service which is no service, but just a scam.
Seriously consider getting a second job, pay off this loan, but don’t get another loan.

This is an awful position to be in. May others learn from what you have written.
Your first task is to get rid of all of your debts. Then start fresh. Resume your education with a fresh chance.

Others, save and avoid getting into debt. Plan far in advance for “Those Rainy Days” when you will need money.

  2. You are being silly or acting like you are a representative of META Bank. Which is it??? Have you read the fine print on any of their products? META Bank retains the right to change the rules at anytime without notice to their customers, and they actually do that in practice. I have researched this bank in particular and they are causing misery everywhere for many people by pushing the blame back off onto the customers instead of correcting the problem. We are in an economic downturn. Potential customers should be warned.

In each case, Meta Bank served as the arbitrator and declared themselves innocent, but they had put themselves in full control of the customer’s money. I believe that your last comment may actually indicate who you are since you wish to stop free speech and have resorted to a form of name calling and have attempted to act as an impediment to free speech.

You are perfectly well entitled to continue to bank at Meta Bank now that you know that Meta Bank is seeking out people who cannot get credit anywhere else and that Meta Bank prides itself on seeking out the underbanked, which translates to the most financially vulnerable and economically fragile people in our society who they know will default on any kind of loan so they can rationalize charging them higher interest rates and fees. This is predatory banking practices and you have been warned of that fact, that is if you are actually a Meta Bank customer and not a Meta Bank representative.

I see you pushing blame back onto me in your note using many capital letters for the words: people, terms, conditions, so, hate, all you need to know, read, hate, csr, dog, bite, provoke. This is what META Bank does. Meta Bank is solely into making money for themselves. They do not care about their customers nor their customers’ lives.
If you were actually a Meta Bank representative, you would be saying the exact same kinds of things.

And I do read the content of any cereal box before buying it, by the way.
I have been studying Meta Bank for over a year now, and how they have treated many people and under the many names by which they offer their products, but it is always the same product with a new gimmick. Your profile image and the way you have phrased your note indicates to me that you are from Meta Bank. Look at the email
    address you have included “no@email.com”
This is far more transparent and expected than you might think; you speak and act like any and every Meta Bank representative I have ever encountered.

  3. You don’t want credit from other companies that operate just like Meta Bank no matter what their names may be.

One of the characteristics of Meta Bank has been that they used many different names.

Meta Bank’s strengths lie in their collections and ability to do publicity. They also have been teaching other banks their strategies.

Don’t get another loan to pay off a first loan. This will only bring you more misery.

Responses from Credit Companies to this post are not appreciated. We are looking for protection from Credit Companies especially predatory lenders. Any company that writes in to offer their services would be suspect if all they can offer is another loan or add to your existing expenses.
